Fred Lee Bishop

Fred Lee Bishop, Jr., 71, of Asheville, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the V.A. Medical Center Hospice. Mr. Bishop was born in Buncombe County to the late Fred Lee Bishop, Sr. and Juanita Cogdill Bishop. He was a veteran of the US Army. Survivors include one sister, Gwen Butler, and her husband, Ken of Asheville; niece, Pam Podwel and her husband, Craig and nephew, Scott Wilbanks and his wife, Debbie all of Asheville; great nieces, Abby and Mary Beth and great nephew, Garrett; and a special friend and uncle, Paul Cogdill and his wife, Nancy. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Rd. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the V.A. Medical Center Hospice and Palliative Care, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC, 28805.
