Kenneth Donald Henson passed away August 22, 2013 at the age of 59. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Edna Allen Henson Siler of Arden and of the late Joyce Henson. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Jack Siler, as well as a brother, Ronny Henson. Born February 28, 1954, Kenneth was a graduate of TC Roberson High School, where he was a star basketball player. After high school, he was a lifeguard at Myrtle Beach. He attended AB Technical College and worked at Steelcase, Brookwood Golf Course and the County Line. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Kenneth D. Henson, II and his fiancée, Amber Carpenter and her children, Madison and Isabella, all of Asheville; two grandchildren, Kendall and Kaydance and one brother, Henry Siler and his wife, Allison and their children, Rachel and Hannah, all of Indian Trail, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Reverend Sam McLamb and Deacon Bobby Peek officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oakley. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated or, for those who desire, a memorial contribution may be made in Kenneth's memory to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  15. Funny thing, when Kenny quit playing golf with us a few years ago, I started winning. Going to miss you Kenny Boy.

  20. I worked with Kenny at the Kounty Line Airport Store for many years. He was always nice and funny. I’m sorry to hear of his passing. Prayers for Little Kenny and his family.
