Corynne Penley Lusk, of the Western Carolina Baptist Home, formerly of Leicester, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013.
Mrs. Lusk was the daughter of the late Ethel Jervis Penley and Thomas R. Penley of Leicester. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Lusk, and a brother, Donovan J. Penley of Brooksville, FL.
Mrs. Lusk retired from Taylor Instrument Co. in 1984, where she had worked for 19 years. She was a a member of Newfound Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children, Joe Lusk and wife Medy of Leicester, Gerald Lusk and wife Katie of Etowah, Judith Hall and husband Curtis of Knoxville, TN, and Linda Lusk of Leicester; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215.
