Terry Lee McHone Penland, 61, of Pennsylvania Ave., died Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Cecil "Tincy" and Betty Burrell McHone. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Tina Roberts.
Terry was a cherished and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Randall Penland; sons Stephen Penland, Jr., and Michael Penland and wife Rachael; daughter Kim Schneider and husband Richard; grandchildren Corben, Alisha, Stephen, Nicholas, and Sammy; sisters Betty Hicks and husband Ronnie, Cathy English and husband Ken, and Teresa Edwards and husband Rodney; and brother Tommy McHone.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Allen Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Steve, my heart hurts for you and your family, such a loss to bear for all of you. In all the years I’ve know her, I never heard her say an unkind word about anyone or anything. Many prayers coming your way that God will grace you with forgotten memories that will bring smiles to your heart.
