Louise Osborn Stricklin passed away on December 16, 2013 at her home in Biltmore Forest NC.
Louise was born October 30, 1942 in Hampton Iowa to Dr. Lowell A. Osborn and his wife Lucille Clemmer Osborn. Louise spent pre-school years in Demark and Germany shortly after WWII where her father was stationed. From Europe, the family returned to Hampton where Louise attended the public schools, graduating from Hampton High School in 1960. She attended the University of Iowa and graduated in 1965. She is a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
Louise moved to Tampa, Florida during her early working years. In 1975 she married Bobby Stricklin. The two worked together in the golf industry. She and Bobby were partners in their golf development/management company and they were owner operators of the Bloomingdale Golfers Club in Valrico, Florida.
Following the sale of their business in 1992, Louise and Bobby retired to Biltmore Forest NC. Louise loved the outdoors and created a prize winning and enduring landscape for their home. She was an active member and a past president of the Mountain Laurel Garden Club. And for 18 years, she, Bobby, (and always the dog) drove and visited 23 National Parks including ten trips to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Twice they traveled all the way to the Oregon Coast.
Louise's gentle manner, joyful spirit, generous smile and laughter touched all around her.
Louise is survived by her husband Bobby Stricklin, his daughter Windy Leigh Tucker, her husband Ron and their children Emmaleigh and Tripp.
A tribute/memorial in Louise's name may be made to the LOUISE OSBORN STRICKLIN FUND at Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).

Bobby, my deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. My memories of both Louise and yourself go back to the days of just prior to opening Northdale. You all made everyone so welcome and the golfing part so pleasureable. The 2 of you were the very best at running a weekend game, and more so, a tournament. Louise never missed decorating the clubhouse for a holiday and made everyone feel so warm. You were certainly blessed to have her in your life !
Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Mrs. Stricklin. Death is the enemy of all mankind, and when it touches us personally, few of us find the comfort that we search for. And death itself leaves so many of us with unanswered questions. However, many have found comfort in the pages of God’s Word the Bible (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4). In God’s Word we find the promise that we will have the opportunity to be reunited with our loved ones (Acts 24:15). A wonderful prospect for life in a beautiful paradise, free from pain, sickness and death. The Bible also tells us where this happy reunion will take place (Psalm 37: 11, 29). Our Loving God will also eliminate death forever (Isaiah 25:8; Revelation 21:3,4). To find more satisfying Bible answers, please go to the website www. jw.org.
Sincerely,
i know this is a difficult time for your family and I hope during a quiet moment you find solace in the reassurance that is found in the bible at Revelation 21:4 it says ‘And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more…the former things have passed away.’
So sorry for your loss. May the God of peace and comfort be with the Stricklin family during your time of bereavement. God promises us that there will come a victory over death. Isaiah 25:8 reminds us ‘He will swallow up death forever, and the the Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces.’
