Marion McKinney McMahan, 84, of 241 Big Sandy Mush Road, Leicester, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Memorial Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Leona King McMahan and was also preceded in death by a son, Reverend Earl McMahan, who died in 1989 and an infant son, Glenn McMahan. He was a tobacco and cattle farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Savannah Marlor McMahan; a daughter, Shirley Phillips of Asheville; four sons, Bobby G. McMahan of Asheville, Edward McMahan of Leicester, Lewis McMahan of Candler and Kenneth M. McMahan of Leicester; a brother, Luther McMahan of Asheville; ten grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday at Jones Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Gary Rogers officiating.
His family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

We will miss his visits to our store. He would walk in with that twinkle in his eye and a huge smile that lit up his whole face. He had the ability to turn a bad day into a good day just by talking to you. We will really miss him.
