Concord, NC - Keith Dwight Maddox, 41, formerly of Asheville died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at his residence.
A native of Miami, Florida, he was a former resident of Asheville and the son of Carole Rea Morgan, and her husband Jim Morgan, of Asheville and Douglas Maddox, and his wife Arlene, of Prairie Grove, Ark. Keith was a 1981 graduate of Enka High School, where he played trumpet in the band. He was an electrician and a former member of the I.B.E.W. He was an assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 38, B.S.A. at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Deborah Allen Maddox and his son, Christian Alexander Maddox of the home. Also surviving are his two sisters, Shirley Burton of Casselberry, Florida and Linda Dudley of Lahaina, Hawaii; a step-sister, Kathy Zaloudek of New Orleans, Louisiana; brothers, Steven Maddox of Fairview, David Morgan of Asheville; a step brother, Mike Morgan of Arden and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Peter Jones. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Maddox account at any State Employees Credit Union for his education.
Deborah, Christian and family – you all have our deepest sympathies. We are here for you and praying for you. We loved Keith so much and will miss him dearly.
Keith was like a big brother and will be missed dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I was very fortunate in having known Keith from our high school days, and I will always remember him fondly. May God’s love and comfort be with your families during this time of sorrow.

I too knew Keith from highschool and have many fond memories of him and our time together in band and other classes. Keith will be missed. I am deeply saddened by your loss.
