Mabel Calloway Robinson, 85, of 39 Teague Drive, completed her earthly journey at her home on Thursday, October 23, 2014. She was surrounded by the love of her family as the angels carried her home.
Mrs. Robinson was a daughter of the late Will and Maude Calloway. She joined her husband, Lester Robinson, who was the love of her life and other family and friends who had gone Home before her.
In addition to working at Mars Manufacturing for 10 years, Mrs. Robinson owned and operated Mabel's Beauty Shop for 32 years.
Surviving are her children, Carol and Terry Cooke, Allen and Patty Robinson, Alvin Robinson, Donna Jones Robinson, and Pam and Jimmy Stewart; her grandchildren, Chad Stewart, Jonathan Robinson and wife Ariel, Brian, Tracy, Scott, Chris, and Michael Robinson, and great-grandchildren, Alex and Abby Stewart, Lily Robinson, and Dustin and Alyssa Robinson.
The family is especially grateful to Dr. Shantae Lucas, and to the Hospice staff, Catherine Gunn, Bessie Tomlin, and Dr. John Langlois for the love shown to our mother through her journey. Our heartfelt love and appreciation to special friends, Robert and Pauline James and to Aaron Baptist Church.
Graveside burial and celebration for Mrs. Robinson will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Green Hills Cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
Would that we all face our final moments with the courage and character demonstrated by Mrs. Robinson – and be equally blessed with a matching measure of grace and support by our loved ones.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Carol, your grace and trust in the Lord during this time has been a testament to the Lord and to the legacy that your Mom left.
