Warren Doyle Hathaway, 85, of Asheville went to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 1, 2015. A native of Danville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Doyle D Hathaway and Mary Imo McLaughlin Hathaway. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith Gustafson Hathaway, a granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Adams and a sister, Martha Hathaway Starkey. Mr. Hathaway is survived by his four daughters: Karin Adams (husband, Berne C. Adams, Jr.), Kathryn Meeks (husband, Thomas Meeks), Karyl Adams (husband, Christopher Adams) and Kimberly Hathaway. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Mac Hathaway and many nieces and nephews. Warren enjoyed his ten grandchildren: Berne C. Adams IV (wife, Mae), Elizabeth Adams Ridall (husband, Joshua), Rebecca Adams Aten (husband, Timothy) Nathan Adams, Sarah Adams, Phillip Adams, Jacob Adams, Stephen Adams, Rachel Adams, and Thomson Meeks. His great-grandchildren were loved and prayed for: Helena, David, Katarina, Ethen, Desirae, Andrea, Chloe, Delana, Alexander, Courtney, Andrew, Brent and Berne V. Warren spent his life in service and dedication to his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He served as a pastor, a missionary and teacher. His interests included horseback riding, woodworking, ministry travel and teaching in a Spanish speaking community. He shared in that ministry with Bob McMath, a dear friend. He was a delight to those around him. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. A memorial celebration will be held at Asheville Wesleyan Church (fellowship hall) on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to TruthAction (P.O. Box 5455, Asheville, NC, 28813. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  2. I have so many wonderful memories of Mr. Hathaway and his family at Deer Trail Ranch in Pennsylvania. That was a very special time in my life. I remember Mrs. Hathaway and the four girls. I also remember meeting Mac. My sincere condolences to his family.
