Edward Dennison, Jr., 74, of Asheville, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at his residence.
A native of Baltimore, MD, Mr. Dennison was a son of the late Edward, Sr., and Edna Gladfelter Dennison. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Karen Maureen Anderson.
Mr. Dennison retired after working for many years as a mortgage banker. In his free time, he loved to fish and draw and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also had a great affinity for horses and the thoroughbred circuit. Edward's interest began from watching his father's involvement at Pimlico Race Course, in Baltimore, and eventually, Edward moved to South Florida following the circuit there.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelli McKeown and husband Alston Hammons, and daughter, Terri Effland and husband Scott; son, Michael Dennison and wife Teresa, and son, Roger Hughes and wife Megan; brothers, Patrick Shawn, and Terrance Michael; and grandchildren, Amanda McKeown, Amber, Hope and Scott Effland, Shalyn Dennison and Morgan Hughes.
A memorial service for Mr. Dennison will be on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Ed. He was a very special person who loved his family and grandchildren with all of his heart. A lovely person to know and such a gifted talent for drawing. I have several of Ed’s drawings that he was gracious enough to create for me and I am so glad that I have them. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. My heart goes out to the family who I know loved him dearly and that he loved with all of his heart. Rest in peace Ed.
‘For God has comforted His people, and He will show mercy to His own afflicted ones.’ (Isaiah 49:13b) May God continue to provide you and your family with peace and
comfort during this difficult time.
