William Franklin Capps, 73, of Candler, died on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.
A native of Buncombe Co., Mr. Capps was a son of the late Lewis Capps and Ruth Allen. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Jean Capps; son, Phillip Frankin Capps; and siblings, Sandy Gaddy and Eddie Capps.
Mr. Capps was an expert upholsterer from the age of 12 til the end of his life. It was his true passion. In his free time he enjoyed gardening and fishing. A born again Christian, he was also an ordained minister, licensed through the Church of God. He loved reading his Bible and had most recently attended Full Gospel Holiness Church.
Mr. Capps is survived by his true love, his wife of 50 years, Catherine Bishop Capps; daughters, Remanda Babb, and Billie Jean Capps; sons, Nathaniel Capps and wife Yvonne, Aaron Capps and Samuel Capps; and grandchildren, Zach Capps, Alena Sunshine Babb, Autumn Rain Babb, Christina Capps, and Jacob Coe Leopard.
A graveside service for Mr. Capps will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Revs. Leonard Cole, Ron Gardner and Ralph Rawls officiating. His grandson, Zach will also speak.
His family will receive friends from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.

Catherine and Kids we know where he was going and now we can go! Heavens gates will be waiting and so will they I pray that God will cradle you all close and keep you in his Loving Grace at this time!!People that have lost big like so many years ago and Mom Dad and Ernest only to realize we have them all together in Heaven waiting!!
