Jeanette McGhee Blankenship, age 60, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20th, 2015 with her family and loved ones by her side. She was the youngest daughter of the late Paul and Myra McGhee, and has joined them and her two brothers, two sisters, and three babies in heaven. Her strength and loving heart will be carried on by her husband Jim Blankenship and daughters Christa Thompson, Shelley Blankenship, and Pam Banks. Also surviving is one sister, Cathyleen Anderson; two brothers Ernest and Bobby McGhee; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Fairview, with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  5. Dear Aunt Janette,

    You were the coolest aunt any neice or nephew could ever ask for. You were always there for me when nobody else was and you taught me alot about life when I was a kid. I will never forget how you spoke highly of me so that I could get a job at Red Lobster when I was 17 years old. You even turned me on to some really cool 70’s music like Supertramp that I still enjoy listening to this very day. Furthermore, I will never forget how much fun we used to have when you would take us to the Dreamland drive in movie theater. I feel so heartbroken that you are gone and that I never got to say good-bye to you in person. Tell everybody in heaven I said hi and that I miss them all as well.
