Mary Shope Silvers, 95, of Swannanoa, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015, at her residence, with her daughters, June and Becky Silvers, by her side.
She was born in Buncombe Co., to the late Emory Long and Jessie Hall Shope. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Claude Silvers who passed away in 1983; and siblings, Edgar, John, Earl, Paul, Frances, Lillian, Imogene, Myrtle and Elsie. She was of the Baptist faith.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December
29 at 11:00 a.m., in the Tunnel Road chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Rev. James Lamb and Rev. Stanley Taylor will officiate and burial will follow at Skyview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
