Lacy Guy Taylor, 92, of 23 GT Drive, Candler, died peacefully Friday, October 22, 2004. Mrs. Taylor was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late William Arthur and Monnie Allen Guy. She was married to Charlie Lee Taylor who died in 1989 and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Warren, Macie Guy and Inez Daniel; four brothers, Eldred Guy, CB Guy, William O. Guy and Leslie Guy; a daughter, Ethel Mae Taylor and a grandson, Arthur Lee Taylor. She was an active member of Brown’s View United Methodist Church where she was active in many church activities, including the Ladies Auxiliary and the quilting group. Surviving are three daughters Ruth Garren and her husband Ben of Candler, Rose Nesmith and her husband Raymond of Fletcher and Barbara Aileen Black and her husband Neil William, of Leicester; three sons, Marvin Ray Taylor and his wife Becky of Asheville, Charles Lee Taylor and his wife Margaret and Roy Ellis Taylor and his wife Helen, all of Candler; two sisters, Elsie Propest of Asheville and Irene Guy and a brother Ed Guy, all of Candler; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Brown’s View United Methodist Church with the Revs. Will H. Pruett and Ed Worley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends following the service at the church and request that memorials be made to Brown’s View UMC Cemetery Fund, c/o Mary Lee Allen, 21 Bennett Road, Candler, NC 28715. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Memorial Mission Hospital and Universal Health Care Center for the care they gave to Mrs. Taylor.

    We miss you so very much the cove just isn’t the same with out you…I go out into the yard and I look up to your house it just doesn’t seem the same. When i hang out the clothes the window on the pourch is so empty. I know you are with Papaw and with your little Ethal now…..You missed them for so long…I miss you!!! All our little talks i miss them too…There was so many things you taught me Just by sitting and listening to you…..Thank You!!!
