Dear Family,
We were so sorry to hear of Betty’s death, but we are so glad she went peacefully. She was a wonderful person and such a mentor for me when
we first moved to WCU. As you know, Bob came as Jim Gudger’s assistant in 1962 and had played for him through his college career in the 50s. Betty was a bright spot in Cullowhee Methodist Church. I have wonderful memories of stimulating conversations with her and missed her so much when she moved to Texas.
My favorite memory, though, is when the girls and I were invited to dinner at Betty’s while our husbands were on a basketball trip and got snowed in! What fun we had.
Our sympathy is with you. We will surely miss her!
Susie and Bob Ray
Dear Jim, Tom, Jane & Marsha,
I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a very special person and I know you will miss her. I just wanted you to know that Ben & I will be thinking of you. Love, Nancy Doughty
Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this time of loss.
Sincerely,
Danny & Janet Duncan
Dear June, Tom and Lib, Please accept our condolences over the sudden death of your sister, Betty. Remember that she is still with us in Christ. As St.Paul said, "Whether living or dead, we are the Lord’s." Lovingly, Arline and Roger Morrison
My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. I have nothing but fond memories of Mrs. Gudger. She seemed to be the calming and loving aspect of the family. Having teenagers myself now, that have their friends over all the time I often think back to the times when we spent hours at ‘Gudgers’ and how nice she always was to us. She was a wonderful lady and I am truly sorry for your loss.
Remembering your family during this time.
