Delores Ray Bennett
Arden – Delores Ray Bennett, 82, of Arden, died Friday, December 2, 2016 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
A native of Martin County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Lizzie Mobley Rawls. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Crystal Bennett, a daughter in law, Janice Wilkie Bennett and two brothers, Melvin Rawls and Bobby Rawls.
Delores was a faithful Christian, loving wife and precious mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Johnnie "Jack" Vance Bennett; one daughter, Sandra Metz of Arden; two sons, David Bennett of Arden and Hilton Bennett and his wife, Terry, of Arden as well as three grandchildren, Chris Bennett, Damon Taylor and Levi Bennett.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home immediately following the funeral service until 8:00 PM. A private burial will be at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of the Bennett family. Delores was a special lady who always had a smile on her face. She was very kind to me as a child when I was a neighbor in Mountain View and a good friend to her daughter Sandra. I live in Florida now, so unfortunately I must convey my sympathy from far away. My prayers are with you during this sad and difficult time.
The Bennette’s were our neighbors and friends when we lived in Arden. Remembering your last visit with us in Florida. Dolores was a kind, caring, loving person. My love goes out to all of you. RIP peace, my friend.

I would like to offer my condolence to Sandra, Terry, Jack and the Bennett family. So sorry to hear of your loss. Delores was such a sweet, loving and gentle person. She represented Christ well, and am looking forward to seeing her again in heaven. What a blessing she was to everyone.
