Louise Austin Crowder passed peacefully into the arms of the angels on Monday, January 2, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at home. Louise was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong and wise Christian woman who gave good advice, along with unconditional love. She will be missed by all who loved her. A native of Yancey County, Louise was the daughter of the late Jeter and Clara McPeterson Austin. She was also preceded in death by a son, Justin Reed Crowder (9/10/82 – 8/19/15); sisters Bonnie Wallace, Eloise Jones and Allie Marie Austin; and brothers Robert, Coy, and Roy Austin. Louise is survived by her husband, Ray Crowder of the home; three daughters: Teresa Cole of Greenville, NC; Pamela Cooper (Pete) of New Prospect, SC; Tina Crowder of the home; and daughter-in- law Dana Crowder of Asheville, NC. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Josh and Olivia Cole, Brittany and La'Rae Cooper and Shylitt Crowder and two brothers, Charles Austin (Sonja) and Earl Austin (Marilee). Louise's funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 3:00 pm at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, 9 Chapel Hill Road, Asheville, NC 28803, with Willard Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.   1. Oh, how I miss you so very much. I find comfort knowing that you are no longer in pain. I also know that you and mama was reunited again yesterday. Before you left yesterday to go home,I asked you to give mama a big hug and a kiss for me. I live my days knowing that one day I will see you both again. You were like a second mom to me and I will miss your encouraging words that you would give me after mama passed. I love you. You will be missed but never forgotten.

  2. I am very blessed to have had such wonderful Aunt’s in my life. I have missed Allie Marie so much this past year, and now my sweet Aunt Louise has passed to join all our loved ones in heaven. I loved her so much and will miss her. Ray, Tina, Pam and Teresa, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have experienced the hurt of losing both parents and two brothers, but can find comfort that one day we are all together again in heaven. I love all of you.

  3. Wishing you peace at this sad time. Louise was one of a kind. Even though she will be sadly, sadly missed, it is merciful that she is no longer suffering. I hope you find comfort in your memories. Loving, healing thoughts are wished for you today and in the difficult days to come.
