Doris Claudette Watson Moore, 86, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. Mrs. Moore was born in Jackson County, NC to the late Daniel Hall Watson and Myrtle L. Owen Watson. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, William Homer Morgan and Harvey Moore and two sisters, Willa Jean Bumgardner and baby sister Barbara Elaine Watson. Claudette was employed with and retired from Van Wingerden International She is survived by her three children; daughter, Karen Morgan Freeman (Larry) of Mills River and two sons, Gary Morgan of Hendersonville and Rick Moore of Mills River; one sister, Bobbie Goforth of Mills River; two brothers, Dale Watson of Seneca South Carolina and James Everett Watson of Mountain Home; three grandchildren, Leslie Morgan, Taylor Moore Garren and Malia Moore; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Reverends Roger Rearden, Mike Phipps, and Jim Ritchey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Enka. The family will receive friends Friday, February 24th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Long Shoals Baptist Church. Flowers are welcome along with donations in Doris's memory to Long Shoals Baptist Church, 661 Longs Shoals Road, Arden, NC 28704.

  1. Mrs. Moore was always a kind and happy person when I was around her. My favorite memory of her are with Harvey at all of the Moore & Son Christmas lunches. She enjoyed the fellowship with their employees and always seemed to have a good time. She will be missed by many. God bless her soul and her family.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. I’m sorry we couldn’t be there as my Mom passed Friday and we had her funeral yesterday. Love to all. Stan and the Long family.
