Henry Eddy Holcombe, Sr., 67, of 150 Holcombe Cove Road, Candler, died Sunday, December 19, 2004, at his home.
Mr. Holcombe was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Reginald Nathaniel Holcombe, Sr. and Lillian Felmet Holcombe. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann H. McCain.
He was a graduate of Enka High School and served in the US Army. He retired from Ecusta Corp. and was a member, Trustee and Sunday School Superintendent of Forge Valley Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Jones Holcombe; one daughter, Cheryl Holcombe Fox of Asheville; two sons, Henry E. Holcombe, Jr. of Candler and Steven Randall Holcombe of Hendersonville, four grandchildren, Lindsay Holcombe, Taylor Holcombe, Kristen Strain, and Brittany Fox; one sister Catherine H. Palmer of Lenoir and two brothers, Claude Holcombe and R.N. Holcombe, Jr. of Candler.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church on Shelburne Road with the Revs. Charlie Glover and Wayne Owen officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.

I was sorry to learn of Eddy’s passing. My wife just lost her only sister who had helped raise her. We know that these times are always difficult.

I have a Court obligation on the day of Eddy’s funeral. Otherwise I would have tried to attend the service.
