John Wayne Woodbery, 81, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at his home. A native of Asheville, Mr. Woodbery was a son of the late Alton and Hazel Sasser Woodbery. He was an Army veteran and a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. He was retired as Maintenance Supervisor from Ingle's Supermarkets. His family include his wife, Sandra Duckett Woodbery; daughters, Kelly Woodbery and Betty Hamlin (Lee); sister, Lucy Crowell; brother, Ronald Woodbery; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 277 Oak Hill Road, Candler, NC 28715.

We are honored to support all of you as you have been so generous to ABCCM all these years. We will always remember Wayne’s humor and quick wittedness; and that warm smile he gave everybody.   3. My prayers are with the Woodbery family. As an Ingles store manager, I worked with Wayne and his brother Ron many years ago and have great respect for them. My condolences to all the family.

  4. So sorry Betty and Kelly. Wayne was always such a kind man.My daughter and him used to cut up and joke with each other. She will always remember him for that. You and Sandra are in my prayers.

  5. Kelly and Betty I am so sorry to learn today of your father’s passing. I only wished I had stayed in contact with him more in the past few years. I know how much you loved him and how he loved you. His kindness and goodness will be missed by everyone. i called your homes but had the wrong numbers,. May God bless you all.
