Laura Manning

Laura Dawson Manning died June 2nd, 2017 at her residence at age 94. She was born December 1, 1922 in Clyde, NC and was the daughter of the late William Hamilton Dawson and Ina Lee Rose. She was preceded in death by her siblings Avalee Jones, Luavina Newman, Joe Dawson, Maletta Ingle, Dnada Aube, and Frankie Dawson. She was married to the late William Conley Manning for 38 years. She was the mother of four children: Bobby Manning (deceased); Ann Coffee, Maryville, TN; Dwight Manning, Acworth, GA; and Elaine Kuykendall, San Antonio, TX. She had 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Manning spent most of her life in the Asheville area. Her interests were her farm, gardening, and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. A memorial service is planned for June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Emma's Grove Baptist Church in Fairview, NC with Mr. Bill Osteen and Wade Manning officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the University of Tennessee Hospice Chapter at 4435 Valley View Dr. Knoxville, TN 37917.
