Almedia Elizabeth Todd

Almedia E. Todd, 85, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017, at CarePartners Solace Center. Mrs. Todd, a resident of Asheville since 2013, was born in Takoma Park, MD, a daughter of the late Mitchell and Mildred Ware. Mrs. Todd was devoted to her husband and family and worked hard to make a wonderful home for them. Having raised her family in Takoma, Park, MD, Mrs. Todd and her husband, James, retired in 1977 to Myrtle Beach, SC. During their 36 years in Myrtle Beach they enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, shrimping, playing pinochle and spending time with their children and their families. While a resident of Myrtle Beach, Mrs. Todd was a long-time member of Socastee UMC. Mrs. Todd is preceded in death by her husband, James, one son, two grandsons, and four siblings. Surviving are seven children and their spouses, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and two brothers. Burial and a family graveside service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
