Reed Newcomb

Asheville ~ Reed Stickles Newcomb, 82, of Asheville passed away Sunday, January 9, 2005 in a local hospital. Mr. Newcomb was born in White Plains, NY to the late Melville and Katherine Frisbee Newcomb. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps, was president of the Duck Island Marina Corporation in Westbrook, CT. and was a retired pilot for Pan American Airlines. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, “Fillette” Newcomb; three sons, Reed S. Newcomb Jr. of San Diego, CA., John L. Newcomb of Windsor Lakes CT. and Larry T. Newcomb of Tokyo, Japan and five grandchildren. No services are planned at this time. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
