Elizabeth Ann Rice Taylor, 73, of Leicester, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Henderson Co., Elizabeth was a daughter of the late Rev. Claude Rice, Sr. and Marguerite Howard Rice. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Eugene Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Anita Rice Metcalf (Eddie Bussard); step-daughters, Melody Eppler (Dwayne), and Michelle Berry (Sonny); step-sons, Mike Taylor (Lisa) and Eddy Taylor (Revonda); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Karen Rice. Graveside services for Mrs. Taylor will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Alexander, with the Rev. Van Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the CarePartners Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

    is a very special lady to me. I have memories and stories from her of what a
    Wonderful mother and grandmother you were. My heart breaks for your family in this time of sorrow however, I know you are at peace and not suffering anymore. You are with God and are his Angel. Heaven has gained a very special lady. May you rest peacefully and know that your family loved you very much!
