David Wayne Cole

David Wayne Cole, 62, of Chattanooga, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Monday, April 2, 2018. He was born in Asheville, to the late Angelita McTindal and Floyd Charles Cole. He lived in Boulder, Colo., for eight years before relocating to Chattanooga in 2000. As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, David was proud of the American flag, which was always on display at his home. David attended A.C. Reynolds High School and graduated from North Carolina State University. He was a mechanical engineer by trade and he enjoyed innovative projects and working with his hands. He was predeceased by his mother, father and brother, Stephen Floyd Cole. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Kay (Payne) Cole; his daughter, Allyson Amelia Cole of Rome, Ga.; and two brothers, Phillip Cole and Ronnie Cole of Asheville, N.C. A gathering of friends and family will take place on Tuesday, April 10, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home Lake Julian in Arden.

  5. Linda and Allyson, I am profoundly sorry for your loss. David was an incredibly kind man. I remember fondly chatting and spending time with your family when Allyson was in Girl Scouts.
