I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.’ 2 Tim.4:7 Near the cross I’ll watch and wait, hoping, trusting ever, ’til I reach the golden strand just beyond the river. ‘One thing have I desired of the Lord, that I will seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.’ Psalm 27:4
Dean Slagle , I knew him for many years – but not long enough ! He was the type person that I can now look back and say to myself ‘ why didn’t I make more time to spend with this man I called a friend! We raced many years together and he would always make me laugh before and after the race ( and even sometimes during the race !! ). He is and always will be missed !

prayer going out to the family
We are so sorry for your loss. Our heart goes out to the family.
We were just teenagers, we had half a brain between us and all our lives ahead of us. We did most everything together back then.
Dean and Dana, with help from Boots, would make the most out of any old junk car they could get their hands on. I swear they painted one with a paintbrush. They had a lot of racing stuff around their house and the garage down on Azalea. They would put these big racing slicks on some old Nova, then promptly do doughnuts and burn outs till you couldn’t see the car for the smoke.
Back then we never dreamed that we would grow up to be men and husbands and fathers, back then all of that stuff felt like so far way we just couldn’t see it. But grow up we did, we became men. And somehow remained kids.
We were in each other’s weddings. We became fathers and we were always friends. We had a lot of fun along the way.
Dean loved Hope and Jesse. He loved his wife and family. He loved his little hometown and all his friends. He was fearless and crazy about fast cars.
He had the most honest laugh. And he laughed a lot.
We didn’t see each other as much these last several years but I would think of him often and always with smile.
It has been my great honor to call Dean Slagle my friend for nearly 40 years.
This world won’t be as much fun without you in it. But I’ll see you on the other side.
So sorry for your loss. Thoughts and praying for you and the family.
We are sorry to hear Lee Ann
