Brenda JOYCE (Jolly) Brevard Bailey, 71,of Hoopers Creek went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. She was a native of Henderson County, the daughter of the late Rev. Darius Z. Brevard and Ceal Garren Brevard. She will be greatly missed by her family: her son, Marshall Bailey; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Dennis Moore; her brother, Zeb Brevard and Lauren; her nieces and nephews, Denise and Bryan Gilbert, Ashley and Mark Hollingsworth, and Jessica Brevard; her great-nieces and nephews, Mady, Brynna, and Sarah Gilbert, and Kaleb, Alex, and Gage Hollingsworth; her lifelong best friend, Carolyn Bradford; and many family members and friends who loved her. Joyce retired from Fletcher Elementary School after 24 years as a Teaching Assistant. She enjoyed working with children and took every opportunity to encourage them. She liked to read and cook, and she loved to study the Bible and serve others. She was kind, gentle, and generous, always looking to meet the needs of others. She loved Jesus above all else, and she praised God for His goodness no matter what she was going through. She depended on Him completely and He never once let her down. The family would like to thank Shelly and Nicki of Henderson County Hospice for the best care we could have ever asked for. Also, thank you to each one who prayed, called, or visited during her lengthy illness. A graveside service will be held at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. with Bryan Gilbert officiating. At other times, the family will be at the home of Barbara and Dennis Moore at 256 Hoopers Creek Road. Flowers are welcome, however, donations may be made in her memory to Samaritan’s Purse or Hospice of Henderson County.
