Mary Lou Hagan Waddell, 69, of Swannanoa passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at J.F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Marvin Hagan and Mary Lucile Ledbetter Hagan. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She was a member of Broad River Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Ronald D. Mayer; a son, Patrick Waddell and wife Wanda of Greenville, TN; a daughter, Dana Waddell of Asheville; a brother, Rev. Bob Hagan of Asheville ; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, October 20 at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Steve Rhinehart officiating. The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30pm Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home Tunnel Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broad River Missionary Baptist Church, 20 Kate Mtn. Rd. Black Mountain, NC 28711.
