Thomas Alvin Pinner Jr., 88 of 105 White Oak Road ext., Arden went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2005.
Mr. Pinner was born on November 25, 1916 to the late Thomas Alvin Pinner and Ollie Lance Pinner. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Aline David, Ruth Cochrane, Katherine Cole, Gladys Nettles, and a brother, Robert Pinner.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mr. Pinner was co-owner of Y&P Trucking and owned multiple businesses in Buncombe and Henderson Counties before he retired to become a cattle farmer, which he enjoyed and was still active.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sarah Redmond Pinner of the home; a brother, Cecil Pinner and a daughter, Kay Lewis, both of Arden; son, Thomas Alvin (Buddy) Pinner III and his wife Madeline of Skyland and a step-son Ronnie Frady and his wife Betsy of Fletcher; four grandchildren, Lisa Presley of Arden, Thomas Alvin (Bud) Pinner IV of Skyland, Doug Pinner of Asheville, Cindy Lewis of St. Pete Beach Florida; four step grandchildren, Fonda Frady, Crystal Carver, Candy Higgins, and Shane Frady all of Fletcher; and nine great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday 4:00 P.M. in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard with Father Victor Mansfield officiating.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road in Arden is in charge of arrangements.
