Joan Sigman Fleisig, 79 years old, died April 30, 2019, at Mission Hospital.

Music was her soul. Her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and husband of 52 years were her love.

Her dogs were her happiness.

  3. I am sorry to hear about the passing of Joan. She and Paul were a special couple when I worked at UUCA. Joan was one of the office volunteers and she always made me laugh with one of her stories. She and Paul opened their home to a group of us who enjoyed playing games together and making music. She was a faithful member of the choir too.

    • I knew Joan at PS 10. She was not my teacher but she was my friend. She taught me to love green lollipops ( she felt sorry for them because nobody would pick them). She helped me to be more open, less earnest. She made me laugh. We were all excited when she became engaged to Paul. She let us share her happiness. One of the hard things about leaving PS 10 to move on to High School, was saying good bye to Joan. I thought of her often through all of these years with great fondness and gratitude. I know that she is missed and I’m sorry she is gone.
