Asheville Butterfly TrailElizabeth “Barbara” Ann Smith, 79, of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
A native of Buncombe Co., Barbara was a daughter of the late Harl and Clara Mae Jones Plemmons.
Surviving are her sons, Mark Smith (Donna Webb), Eddie Smith, and Dean Smith; grandchildren, Anthony Smith, Christina Smith, Sylia Smith, Ashley Webb, Brandon Smith and Josh Smith; great-grandchildren, Carmen Smith, Abby Smith, Lathan Smith, Aubrey Webb, Alijah Webb and Braxton Kuykendall; sisters, Doris Huntsinger, Shelia Plemmons and Deanna Bell (Reggie); nieces, Christy Vess and Donna Brewer; and nephew, Michael Huntsinger.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at New Hope Baptist Church, 6011 Bat Cave Road, Old Fort, NC, with Rev. Tony Vess officiating. Burial will follow at Jones Family Cemetery on Smith Graveyard Road, Asheville (Graveside services will be limited to 10 persons.)
