Orlando, FL

Tyler Jacobus, 27, unexpectedly departed from us on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.
Tyler was born in Orlando, Florida on February 20, 1993. He lived most of his childhood years in Palm City, Florida. He was the son of Phillip and Gail (Winbon) Jacobus. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancée, Rhonda Becker; and his sister, Emily (Villegas) Gibson (husband Tyler & daughter Delaney). Tyler is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins on both the Jacobus and Winbon side of the family.
Tyler had a special connection with animals, especially with his beloved and recently passed dog Korey. She was a special member of the family and went on many adventures with Tyler. Within the past couple months, he was developing a relationship with newly adopted member of the family, pup Maxwell.
So many defining qualities of a good person were the embodiment of Tyler. He had a calm and steady hand, heart, and head. He was always willing to listen – anything from your troubles to the mundane. Tyler had a knack for making others feel as if they were the most important person in the world, because to him, they were. He cultivated many lasting and meaningful friendships in his short time here with us. Tyler was a kind and gentle man, both thoughtful and thought-provoking. Always ready with a quick quip, he could make anyone smile and laugh. He defied formality at every chance he could and enjoyed being carefree and lighthearted.
Tyler was an avid outdoorsman and celebrated spending time in nature. He frequently took advantage of all his beautiful surroundings and hiked, camped, boated, fished, and most recently began mountain biking adventures…you name it, he probably enjoyed it. He was always up for an adventure if it involved the outdoors. He frequently attended musical events in outdoor spaces with friends. Among his other hobbies, Tyler enjoyed cooking, reading historical books, and watching Lord of the Rings and Star Wars films. Tyler reveled in spending time to figure out how things worked, taking them apart and putting them back together again. He was handy and appreciated fixing things.
Tyler was one of the most exceptional and kind souls to pass through our lives, and he will be profoundly missed by both his family and friends. A small gathering is being held on Sunday July 12, 2020 to remember Tyler and his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to http://fragmentsofhope.org/membership/ to honor Tyler’s love of the ocean and its conservation.

My heart hurts for you all. Such an unexpected and tragic loss. I didn’t know Tyler, but I know he put a brilliant smile on Rhonda’s face and that was all I needed to know he was the best of men. I know he’s going to be missed and I’m praying so hard for you all.
“… and the greatest of these is love.” Rhonda, such a special love you gave and felt, as did Tyler, during these past years. I did not know Tyler, but you both had such big smiles when you were together that he had to be a most wonderful man. May his arms always embrace you from the heavens. Godspeed healing to the long list of broken hearts he leaves behind…

We will continue to remember you before His throne.
