Blake Daniel Banks, 19, of Asheville, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020.

Born December 26, 2000 in Asheville, Blake was a son of Diana Jerlene Perez (Genaro) and Paul Daniel Banks (Maria).

In addition to his parents, Blake is survived by his siblings, Jennifer Conner (Jon), Brandi Banks (Jessica), Gary Scott, and Elizabeth King; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Jerry Lee Banks, Sr. and Virginia Sue Banks, and by his maternal grandparents, Robert Curtis King and Ruth Elizabeth King.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Funeral services in Groce chapels are limited to 50 and facial masks are required. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

For those wishing to pay their respects, Blake will lie in repose at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

  3. Blake was such a wonderful young man. I had the pleasure of him of knowing him through my boys Colton and Bryant. Many of a night Blake would stay the night at our house with my boys or they would stay at his. To his parents I can not imagine your pain and hurt no parent should have to go through this. May God grant you strength to face the coming day and know that Blake is safe in the arms of our savior. Stand on the promise that you will see him again. To his friends, this is such a hard time with the lose of a friend but please do not keep you grief bottled up. Continue to share your stories of him with everyone keep his memory alive. I will cherish all of the good times that we had. You never wanted anyone to feel sad or be upset, you made sure that you put a smile on everyone’s face every single day!
