  1. You were a true friend who would do anything for someone and not expect anything in return. You will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know you.

  2. Rodney was one of our dearest friends. He will be missed greatly. Everytime you hear tunder, you will know that Rodney is in heaven doing what he loved best, blowing things up. He was the person you went to if you couldn’t figure out how to make something or fix something. He could do almost anything.

  3. I have such fond memories of Rodney, although I have not seen him in many years. I know he will be missed by his family and friends, I hope their memories of him will sustain them as they grief their loss.

  4. Good guy. Mountain Born Native who traveled the world. At our weekly men’s lunch group, Rodney shared great stories of his rural youth and his adult world wide adventures. We all learned a lot from Rodney and enjoyed his sense of humor and his presence. He will live on in our fond memories of him. I’d light a candle for Rodney but given his lifetime work in the explosives industry, there’s not one big enough or bright enough. Love you, man.

  5. Rodney was a wonderful man! I knew him for along time and just lost contact in the past few years but always knew he was in my thoughts and heart and I in his! He enjoyed life and worked hard, as well as loving his family and friends! I will miss him! Gods love all of you!

  6. Andrea, I am so sorry to hear of Rodney’s passing. Nellie Jo was so proud of the both of you and rightly so. Prayers. (Nellie Jo’s hair stylist)

    • Thank you Freda for the kind words. I know Rodney is excited to be in heaven with Mom and Dad.
I think of you every time I go by the salon on Leicester Highway and wonder how you are doing.

      Love, Andrea

  7. Words cannot express how sad it is for all of us to lose such a great friend and sweet soul. Rodney was like a father to me and always made sure that if I needed anything, he was right by my side. We shared many family meals together and created numerous memories that will forever be treasured. Beyond grateful and blessed to have had Rodney in my life. His presence on earth will be greatly missed but I have no doubt he is watching over us from the clouds above! May God give him the love that he gave us all and a piece of my heart now lives in heaven. Love you, Rodney!

  8. Rodney will be missed. He lived across the street from me. Went to the same schools together. My prayers are with the family.

  9. My sweet cuz, I’m here with nothing but sweet memories of love and life at Papaw Maney’s running through my mind and my heart. Our big brothers wouldn’t “pretend” with us, but all three were there if a snake by the lake needed killing, a fishing line needed untangled, a bee’s nest in the barn loft got in the way of throwing down hay to our make believe horses, or a splinter from the bridge across the creek needed removed from a bare foot! I remember Rodney making a halter from bailing twine & me trying to put it on one of Papaw Maney’s cows. When that didn’t work, it became a horse halter for one of the thousand you and I had riding that old, white-washed fence a million miles. Several years ago, Rodney stopped by after a visit to the Boundary. We sat out on the deck for probably three hours just laughing, remembering, and telling tales. His light will be missed. I loved your Dad, Mom, Rodney, and I love you very much.

  11. For the past three or four years four or five neighbors went to breakfast on thursday mornings (until Covid hit) Rest in peace my friend we had good times.

  12. Andrea, My heart aches with Rodney’s death. From our first meeting at Hall Fletcher all the way through our adult years, we were as thick as thieves. Rodney was one of my greatest friends and, oh my, the stories that could be told. He was a one of a kind man with a great heart and I will miss him.

Terri and I regret that we can not be at any of the services. Terri loved him too and she sends her thoughts and prayers.

    • Wilton and Terri,

Thank you for the touching memory. The kind words are such a comfort at a time when I need it the most. I can remember you were such a big part of his life. We live streamed the service and it is still posted on Groce Funeral Home’s FB page. Andrea

  13. Andrea, Rodney was so much a part of our family growing up. There are not words to express how much our whole family loved him. If I couldn’t get my brothers to do something, I would ask Rodney and he would do it for me. Always helpful and always so kind.
    He will be so missed!
My thoughts and prayers are with you in this sad time. So glad we will see him again in Heaven!
    Love, Virginia Lawrence Wilkinson

  14. Sorry to hear of Rodney’s passing. I worked at Diamond Brand for many years and Rod was a regular who cane in and shot the breeze with me regularly. RIP Rodney.

    • Jerry,
Rodney loved to visit Diamond Brand and he only bought the best clothing. Thank you for your kind words. He was the best brother in the world and I will miss him terribly.
      Andrea (Rodney’s sister)

  15. Andrea I am so sorry ….Rodney was a great friend who always found a way to make me laugh. Although I have not seen him in a couple of years I think of him often. The last time we talked was about coming to your farm to see the beautiful horses one day. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
