Louise King Branson, 88, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021.

A native of Asheville, Louise was the daughter of the late Roy D. King and Thelma King Hensley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Robert J. Branson, Asheville Police Department, who died in 1997; sisters, Bobbie Jean Banks, Lois Kelly, and Hazel Seastrunk; and brother, Eddie King.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Ballard, and brothers, Roy and Richard King.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. The Rev. Ron Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

  1. I remember Louise when she lived off Merrimon she was my Aunt Naomi and Uncle Larry Anderson’s neighbor. She was always so kind to me. Sorry for your loss

  2. Debbie, I’m so sorry to read about Louise. I would see her at Rite Aid lunch counter and we would talk about old times when her and Bob would come to your house every weekend. She was always so sweet and kind. The last time I saw her she said she had moved to Battery Park. May she rest in peace, she missed Bob so much.

  4. Debbie,& Family, Remembering your Aunt Louise and all the good times! We always loved your mom, and all the sisters, and have good memories of trying on their high heels when we were growing up.   6. Debbie you may not remember me but did Louise’s hair for years and I also did your hair too. I just found this obituary on line and I was shocked. I am so sorry I didn’t know before now. I can’t help but think she is happy being with the love of her life. Hope you are doing well and may God bless you always ❤️
