Asheville Butterfly TrailHelen Payne Feeney, 90, formerly of Alexander, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, in Loris, SC.
Mrs. Feeney was born April 12, 1930, in Clay County, NC, to the late Thomas and Pauline Coker Payne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Barney A. Feeney, Jr. (2005) and by brothers, Hollis Payne and Archie Payne.
Helen was a homemaker and also had worked as a stenographer for the Presbyterian Assembly at Montreat.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Nelson (Dana), her son, Patrick William Feeney; grandson, Robert Kyle; and sister, Ruby Nichols Conroy.
Due to COVID-19, a private graveside service for her family will be held at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, with the Rev. Anthony Fox officiating.

Dear Helen’s family,
We saw in the paper about Helen’s passing. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Cherish your memories. We knew Helen via Barney as he came to Mountain View Church. We live over on Ridgeview Road. Elmer & Ila Parham were our parents. Elmer has been gone 8 years this April & Ila, 4 years this July. It is hard to give up your parents but know they are all in Heaven. Again our condolences to all of you.
