Jennifer continued her education and career at AB Tech, Handi Skills, Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab and Open Hearts Arts Center. She was a dedicated Red Cross volunteer for 12 years. She was a confident and gifted performer, singer, dancer and artist. She showcased these skills throughout her life including impromptu harmonica performances on stage at Shindig on the Green and the stage of her sister’s wedding. She always had a smile and glow that made people happy to be in her presence.
One of Jennifer’s proudest moments came after studying for 6 years to become a Bat Mitzvah at Beth Israel Synagogue. She was quite the local celebrity due to her outgoing, warm and friendly personality. Jennifer was well read and an excellent and prolific writer. She accomplished these and many other milestones due to the unwavering, unmatched and breathtaking dedication and guidance of her loving parents. There is no greater love than what they shared since the day she entered the world.
Her hobbies and passions included music, eating out, traveling, vacationing In Hendersonville with her Aunt Lois and pulling the slots at casinos. She was a devoted Elvis, Princess Diana, Richard Simmons, Kenny Rogers and Ronald Reagan fan.
She appreciated her family and every small blessing in her life. Jennifer always had a compliment ready to bestow upon others. She left a positive impression on all who met her and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
In addition to her parents, Jennifer leaves behind her “favorite” sister Amy Michalove Lewis, brother in law, Bryan and nephew and niece Daniel and Lindsey Lewis of Atlanta, GA, loving aunt, Lois Michalove, of Atlanta and Hendersonville, and her adoring cousin, Gary Rosenberg, of Memphis, as well as aunts and uncles, Natalie Rosenberg, Penny and Larry Lewis, Shelley Pahn, and Phillip Lewis, all of Memphis, and Lynne Joy and Larry Steinman, of St. Louis, and many other cousins whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank the amazing founders and staff at Open Hearts Arts Center for their love and compassion as well as her special caregivers and CarePartners Hospice who helped make it possible for her to remain at home.
Jennifer leaves this world a better place.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Open Hearts Arts Center or Chabad-Lubavitch of Western North Carolina.

Paul,
While it has been a long time since you and I have talked, I remember well how your face lit up each time you mentioned Jennifer. Our visits were short because you busy taking care of my vision. It was easy and pleasing to see the vision you and your wife had for her. A vision filled with love, hope and a future…. I did not have the pleasure to know Jennifer but it sounds from those that knew her, your love helped her achieve so much. I’m so sorry to hear of her passing.
Dear Paul and Barbara,
My heart is saddened by the passing of your wonderful daughter Jennifer.
I’m sure that Rabbi Susskind did a beautiful service.
Just know that Jennifer is not forgotten, because her life and memories live on in the hearts and minds of family and friends.
May The Peace of The L-RD G-D dwell with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Jennifer was an inspiration.
Dear Barbara and Paul,
I am saddened by your loss. Time has flown by, and I so have treasured our times together. Jennifer has been an inspiration to me in dealing with my son with special needs. You have been so dedicated to your girls. I would have attended Jennifer’s service had I not had to pick up my daughter & her boyfriend at the Asheville airport.
I would so like to meet you for lunch soon. My heart aches for you.
Love,
Jean
Dear Barbara, Paul, and Amy,
My heart aches coming to find out Jennifer passed away and my deepest condolences to your family. Jennifer shared a lot of traits with my Mom that I truly admired in that she always had a bright positive attitude and never gave up her dignity, pride, or willingness to fight. I have many wonderful childhood memories with Jennifer and your family and just wanted to reach out to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. I don’t have your # but please send via e-mail or can reach me at 706-627-5005. We still make trips to see my Dad in Asheville and would be great to connect.
Love and Prayers,
Brett
