Linda Darlene Morgan, more famously known as “Morgan” to everyone, 54, of Asheville, died Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Mission Hospital.
Born in Asheville, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Redman) Morgan.
Linda was one of the first employees of Superior Modular Products , now known as Optical Cable Corporation (OCC) in Swannanoa, working there for 27 years.
She was a member of the Star Lanes Women’s Bowling League with many awards , and she enjoyed playing softball for the Asheville City Recreation League. Softball was one of her greatest joys. She was always on the pitching mound and was a fierce competitor. Linda will be missed terribly by her many friends and family whose lives and hearts she touched. Morgan was a kind, giving person and would share her last coke or dollar with you and warm your heart with her smile.
Linda is survived by her Aunts Bozie Morgan of Candler and Priscilla Morgan of Raleigh; cousins Charles and Radeana Dotson; her former partner, Kim Sluder; and a number of extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Rev. Kelly Dotson officiating. Burial will be private.
