Phyllis West Penland, 72, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021.
A native of Texas, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Leslie Dalton and Merle Mildred Ashe West. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Danny Lynn West.
Mrs. Penland is survived by her husband, Bill Penland; daughters, Christy Lynn Creek and Sammie Jean Murray; sons, Laron Ray Warren (Natalie) and Leslie Eugene Warren; grandchildren, Sydney Gwen Murray, Abel Ray Creek, Sabrina Nicole Treadway, Brandon Ray Warren, and Dalton Cain Murray; and great-granddaughter, Ella Katrin Warren.
The memorial service for Mrs. Penland will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. The Rev. Owen Isaacs will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Mrs. Penland’s family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
