Clinton Junior Gillespie, 79, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at his home in Leicester.

Mr. Gillespie was born March 21, 1942, in Buncombe County to the late Clinton and Omie Sluder Gillespie. He was an Army veteran and a retired carpenter and home builder. He had been at Crossroads Baptist Church for 39 years.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Gillespie and sons Ronnie Gillespie (Melissa) and Johnny Gillespie; grandchildren, Aley, Katelyn (Dakota) and Jacob and great-grandchildren, Noah and Alyssa.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Crossroads Baptist Church with the Pastors Joseph Sluder and Billy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
