Elizabeth Ann Thomasson

Elizabeth Ann Thomasson went to be with our Lord at age 87 on Wednesday April 23, 2025. She was a faithful and loving follower of Jesus Christ, and we rejoice that she is with Him now. She was a joyful and loving wife to her husband Terry for 54 years before he went to be with the Lord in 2018.

She took great joy in being a loving and creative: mother and mother-in-law to Alicia Thomasson, and James and Christy Thomasson; grandmother to Ethan, Maggie, Nathanael and Gabriel Thomasson; and great grandmother to Maggie’s daughter, Eden. Throughout all their childhoods she hand-sewed costumes for them to play in such as: princess dresses, knight’s armor, cowboy and cowgirl outfits among many others.

Liz retired from government service where she worked as an administrative assistant for NASA during the Apollo 11 project and later for the National Endowment for the Humanities.

She was born on March 19, 1938 to Henry and Amelia Kalous who immigrated from Czechoslovakia in the early 1900’s. She grew up on their farm in Lohrville, Iowa with her older brother Karl and sister Mary Nelson; both preceded her in passing.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

Her funeral Mass will be held at St. Barnabas Catholic Church on Monday April 28th at 10:30 AM with grave side service immediately following at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
