Melanie Carroll Jackson

Melanie Carroll Jackson, born on May 7, 1952, in Charlotte, NC, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in Asheville, NC, due to a long battle with cancer. Surviving is her daughter, Hanna Moser (Matt) of Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren, Alexander and Chloe Moser, and Aidan and Avery Turner; brother, Edward Jackson; and sisters, Suzanne Jackson, Anne Brody and Elaine Taveau.

Melanie had a strong will to succeed along with an independent personality. She always marched to the beat of her own drum, loved the arts, and was passionate about politics and humanity. She devoted her working career as a tax accountant, working with many of her clients for over 30 years on St. Simons Island through her business, Golden Isles Tax Service. Melanie appreciated poetry, writing many poems herself.

Waves bend your ear
Fill you with laughter
And curl through your hair.

Waves bend on the back
Of a log-legged cat,
Wavy little cat.

Move your imaginings
And crash along your thoughts.

People linked by waves,
Understanding waves,
Connecting us as one.

And encompassing our midst.

Melanie was also an avid bumper sticker prognosticator. In her last days, she leaves us with what she thought would be a great bumper sticker: “I theorize every day of my life”- Melanie Jackson

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
