Betty Dover Hall

Betty Dover Hall, 91, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Born October 19, 1933, and a native of Buncombe Co., Betty was a daughter of the late David Franklin and Margaret Lyda Dover.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Rex Earl Hall; sisters, Alene McCarson (twin), Roberta Radford, Kate Golden, Lucille Carroll, Violet Dover, Elizabeth Dover (infant), and brothers, Robert “Bud” Dover, James Dover, Marvin Dover, Jack Dover, and Charlie Dover.

Betty graduated from West Buncombe High School and Mars Hill College and worked 30 years at West Buncombe Elementary School in various roles. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Asheville for over five decades.
Betty grew up in a large and loving family. She was a loving, caring, generous, and a gentle soul who will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Neil S. Hall and wife Laura L. Hall, of Marietta, GA; granddaughters, Alyssa and Amanda Hall; great-grandson, Atticus Agredano; sister, Margaret Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

The graveside service for Mrs. Hall will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 am at Dix Creek Chapel Cemetery, 31 Dix Creek Chapel Rd., Asheville, NC 28806. Associate Pastor Leah Brown will officiate.

The family would like to thank CarePartners Hospice Solace Center for ensuring that Betty suffered no pain in death and died peacefully and with dignity.

In lieu of flowers, her son has requested that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
