Thomas Earl Hancock

Thomas Earl Hancock, 74, of Candler, died Thursday, August 28, 2025 in his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lebanon, TN, he was the husband of Brenda (Ponders) Hancock of Candler, and the son of the late William Earl and Lillian Frances (Phillips) Hancock.

Tom was truly a wonderful and humble person, always willing to give. As long as his family was happy, he was too. He was the best father to his only son and an absolute rock for his wife. From an early age of growing up on a farm, he was such a hard worker and great provider. He was a manager at Custom Packaging for over 50 years, he was a true mentor and was loved by all who knew him. No matter what, you could always count on him putting a smile on your face with his great sense of humor. He will be remembered most of all for the great love he had for all of his family and the joy each of them gave to him. He was such a blessing to everyone in his life and will be forever missed.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, he is survived by a son, Chris Hancock and his wife Kristin; four grandchildren: Marissa & her husband Austin Broadway, and Alexis, Kendric, and Makena Hancock; two great-grandchildren: Adalynn and Emberlynn; and a sister, Brenda Keith and her husband Randall.

Graveside services will be private.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
