Born in: Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines
Resided in: Fletcher, North Carolina

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria Fermina “Fermina” Dela Vega Fallesgon, who joined her Creator on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the age of 49, at Mission Hospital. While her unexpected departure has created a deep void in our lives, we take comfort in knowing that the enduring warmth of her love and the bright light of her spirit will continue to illuminate all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Born on April 9, 1976, in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, Fermina was the cherished daughter of Manuel Dela Vega and Marlene Catubig. From her earliest days, she carried with her the kindness, fierce resilience, and strong sense of family that anchored her Filipino roots.

For 23 incredible years, Fermina dedicated herself to her work at PLI as an Events Account Consultant. Her dedication, professionalism, and genuine care didn’t just make her a trusted colleague, they made her a true friend to so many. Always driven and passionate, Fermina also fearlessly built her own digital business from the ground up, a true testament to her determination, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Beyond her work, Fermina’s heart belonged to the community. She was a vibrant, active member of the WNC Filipino American Community, always the first to lend a hand, volunteer, and gather people together to celebrate our culture, friendship, and faith. She had a beautiful, unique way of connecting with people, making every single person feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Fermina’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a devoted wife to Benjie, a loving mother to Luke and Lyka, a caring daughter, and a loyal sister and thoughtful friend. She taught us to find happiness in the simple, meaningful moments like cooking her favorite dishes, bringing loved ones around the table, laughing over shared stories, or spending quiet evenings crafting. She was also a gentle reminder that nurturing yourself matters, often taking time to relax, reflect, and recharge.

Her bright smile, gentle heart, and joyful energy had a way of lighting up every single room. To know Fermina was to truly experience kindness without measure and love without condition. She will be profoundly missed by her husband, Benjie, their children, Luke and Lyka; her father, Manuel; her siblings, Joey, Jessie, Mary Ann, and Melanie; and her circle of nieces, nephews, co-workers, and a lot of friends who loved her dearly.

Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the abundance of love she shared.

A celebration of Fermina’s beautiful life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 12 to 6 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden. A Mass will be offered at 4 p.m. by Father Adrian Porras. All family and friends are invited to gather beginning at noon to honor and remember her. There will be a livestream starting at 11:45 AM and extending through the end of the gathering at 6:00 PM, which can be viewed by clicking on Fermina’s photo just below the obituary text.

The family extends our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming love, prayers, and support shared with us during this difficult time.
