Marilyn Presnell Penland Cunningham

Marilyn Presnell Penland Cunningham, 89, passed the veil on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

She was born on April 6, 1936, to the late Milton and Edra Fisher Presnell, and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life.

She leaves behind two daughters, Tamara Byrd, Tonya Davis; special nephew/son, Jonathan Stines; grandchildren, Matt Byrd, Monica Hill (Blake), Marcus Byrd (Ally), Kelsey Fullbright (Jessica), Ryan Cunningham (Jenn); and five great-grandchildren, Macy, Luke, Nicholas, Heath, and Graham. She was preceded in death by her namesake, Marilyn Fullbright.

A private service was held in her honor, officiated by Rev. Skip Gillikin, at First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville, where she was a member.
