Asheville Butterfly TrailRaymond Eugene Anderson, 60, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
A native of Buncombe Co., Raymond was a son of Ellen Pike and of the late Don Anderson, and his late step-father, Elbert “Corky” Pike. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Laurie Fraser; sister, Donna Anderson; and brother, Doug Pike.
He worked so hard to provide for his family. He worked for years in textiles for Burlington and Champion companies. Then he devoted his time to working at Blue Ridge Group Homes (Blue West). He was also a member of Freedom Christian Church.
He is survived by his children, Kelsey Anderson, Greg Anderson, Ricky Anderson, Kristin Anderson, Brian Fraser, and Michelle Reiman; he was a proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren, Lincoln, Greyson, Alex, Gabe, Gabriela, Bailey and Lindsey; sister, Jessica James; brothers, Tim Anderson and Chris Pike; special aunt, Martha Crowder Cooper; and many more family members and friends who Ray loved dearly. Family was the most important thing to him.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20 at Freedom Christian Church in Marshall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.

Words cannot explain how losing you has devastated all of us. We are completely shocked and needless to say will be empty without your infectious laughter. I for one will forever miss you and will hold those memories closer. You weren’t only my cousin, but my brother in my heart. I love you

Praying for those that remain during this difficult time. Ray was a good man and friend to me during my years at Blue Ridge. We had many laughs, shared grievances and heartbreak, as well as talks about the Lord, where are souls were and where we wanted them to be. That old porch swing was quite the place of bonding. I’m thankful to have met him and shared the wonderful time we were blessed to have together.
You will be missed, it was a Great blessing to have worked with you. Such a great man with a laugh you will never forget. Prayers for all the family.

Ray’s laugh and smile was so contagious. We spent many years working beside each other and getting to know one another. Ray became family, he will be deeply missed. Prayers for the family.
I will always remember when my parents and me would come to visit Granny crowder i could walk up the dirt road to aunt ellen’s house to visit with Jessica and Tim and Ray would be there so i could visit with them to I am so Sorry to hear that Ray passed away all of you are in our thoughts and prayers during this time you will always be my cousin in my heart I love you
A blessing to our family in so many ways! Another loss of life on earth, but a new eternal life with our Savior! Love to all the family as we hold to our faith in reuniting and remembering the memories!
