Marvin Howell McCracken Jr.

Marvin Howell McCracken Jr. passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2026.

He was the son of the late Dr Marvin and Joan McCracken. In addition to his mother and father, he was also preceded in death by a brother Mark Shane McCracken.

Marvin grew up in Asheville, a graduate of T.C. Roberson High School class of 1982. After high school he attended college at Anderson College in Anderson S.C.

An avid tennis player throughout high school and college. Joined The United States Air Force; was involved in the Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Most recently he was employed at Jersey Mike’s at Airport Rd in Arden N.C.

He is survived by a brother Harry McAfee McCracken, a sister in-law Brenda Lee McCracken, and a nephew Anthony Ronald McCracken of Gilbert , Arizona. Also survived by an aunt, Sue Wright of Burnsville N.C. and many cousins.

Marvin will be laid to rest at a private ceremony at Cane Creek Cemetery in Fairview N.C.

A celebration of life will be planned a later date and Groce Funeral Home’s Lake Julian team is assisting the family.
