Susan "Sue" Clark Monahan

Susan “Sue” Clark Monahan, 80, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

She was a dedicated educator for over 44 years, in both Florida and NC.

She loved mountains, all nature, and was a lifelong animal lover and rescuer.

She is survived by her beloved relatives: her grandsons, Riley and Mitchell, her beloved twin sister, Jane Hennessy, her brother, John Clark, her nephews, Mark and David Hennessy, her nieces, Shari Ferrer and Lisa LeBlanc, and all their spouses and many wonderful children; and her special friends, Debbie Shipman, Kathy Wilson, John Kreiner, Chris Monkaieis, Peggy Uribe, and Elaine Strong.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Eugene Catholic Church, Asheville, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
