Covar Lewis Shuler, 81, of 68 Shuler Road, Candler, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at Mission Hospitals.
A native of of Macon County, he was a son of the late Harley T. and Lelia Johnson Shuler and was also preceded in death by a son, Martin Lewis Shuler, who died in 1967. A US Army veteran of WWII serving in Okinawa, Mr. Shuler was a self-employed trucker and a member of New Morgan Hill Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Blanche Lance Shuler; a sister, Grace Matthews of Candler; two brothers, James Elmer Shuler of Candler and Leonard G. Shuler of Asheville.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Roy Houston, Greg Cope and Charles Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
